Roger Federer and his wife Mirka say they have donated 1 million Swiss francs ($1.02 million) “for the most vulnerable families” in Switzerland.

Federer writes on his social media accounts that “these are challenging times for everyone and nobody should be left behind.”

The announcement was the first post on his Twitter and Instagram accounts in more than three weeks.

Federer underwent surgery on his right knee five weeks ago and hoped to return for grass-court tournaments in June. The men’s tennis tour has since shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Federer says he and wife hope “others might … Read More

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Oft-injured tight end Tyler Eifert and the Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to a two-year contract in free agency Tuesday night.

Eifert played in 16 games last year for the first time in his seven NFL seasons, all with Cincinnati. He caught 43 passes for 436 yards and three touchdowns.

He’s one of the NFL’s elite tight ends when healthy. Before

Eligibility for each country is determined by the world ranking about a month before the start of competition. The ranking was frozen during the shutdown in golf, and one can only speculate when the sport will resume.

Justin Thomas said he was “bummed” to hear about the postponement, though he understood and said it was the right decision.

“Whenever it’s played, it’ll be great and I hope I’m a part of the

If you’ve watched a Toronto Raptors television broadcast within the last decade you’ve almost certainly heard Jack Armstrong yell that out in only the exuberant way he can when he wants a good Raptors highlight replayed at least a few hundred times.

MONTREAL — The president of the Canadian Grand Prix expects to know by May 1 whether the Formula One race will take place on its scheduled date in June.

The first seven races on the F1 schedule have been either postponed or cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Montreal is the eighth race.

“The decision will be a common decision between Formula 1 and myself,” Dumontier said on a conference call Tuesday. “At this point, we all hope the … Read More
