Report: Clippers close practice facility after positive COVID-19 test

The Los Angeles Clippers have closed their practice facility to players and staff as a precaution following a positive COVID-19 test in the team’s travelling party headed to Orlando next week, according to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The news comes on the heels of the NBA’s announcement earlier Thursday that an additional nine players have tested positive for the novel coronavirus after the latest round of testing.

The new cases bring the league’s total up to 25 since June 23 when NBA players reported to their home cities — with the exception of the Toronto Raptors, who travelled to Fort Myers, Fla., — for mandatory testing. Additionally, the league has revealed that 10 team staff members have tested positive out of 884 tests.

The NBA’s restart — which will see each of the returning teams play eight more regular-season games for playoff seeding — kicks off July 30 at Disney World in Orlando.
