It was a family affair on Week 3 of Dana White’s Contender Series as brothers Orion Cosce and Louis Cosce both earned UFC contracts thanks to technical knockout wins.
Strawweight Cheyanne Buys and heavyweight Josh Parisian also picked up impressive victories and were rewarded with contracts on the five-fight card that took place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
Orion, 26, was the biggest underdog on the card but managed to rally in the third round after a tough first 10 minutes against Matt Dixon. Orion eventually gained top position on Dixon and picked up the TKO win with 18 seconds remaining in the fight while pinning Dixon in a mounted crucifix.
Louis, 24, needed only 72 seconds to finish opponent Victor Reyna. Louis has finished all seven of his opponents in the first round.
The siblings from Arcata, Calif., both improved to 7-0 in mixed martial arts. Both competed in the welterweight division.
Buys defeated Hilarie Rose by unanimous decision in a high-pace tilt, while Parisian knocked out Chad Johnson in one round.
Kenny Cross earned a unanimous decision over Kevin Syler in a lightweight bout that kicked off the show, however White did not award Cross with a contract.
