COLOGNE, Germany — Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime is through the final of the Cologne Open after posting a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 win over Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut in a semifinal match Saturday.

The 20-year-old Auger-Aliassime, who is looking for his first win on the ATP Tour, will appear in his third final this season and sixth of his career when he faces top seed Alexander Zverev of Germany in Sunday’s final of the ATP 250 hardcourt tournament.

After faltering in the second set, Auger-Aliassime quickly regained momentum with an early break in the third before putting the second-seeded Spaniard away.

Philadelphia Union midfielder Brenden Aaronson will join Salzburg following the conclusion of the Major League Soccer season.

The Union announced Friday that the 19-year-old signed a contract through 2025 with the Austrian Bundesliga team. He will be able to play for the club when the international transfer window opens in January.

HOUSTON — The Houston Open will allow limited spectators next month at Memorial Park, the first domestic PGA Tour event to have fans since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down golf for three months on March 13.

The tour said 2,000 tickets will go on sale Wednesday through the tournament’s website.

COLOGNE, Germany — Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime cruised into the semifinals of the Cologne Open tennis tournament with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Moldova’s Radu Albot on Friday.

Auger-Aliassime, seeded third at the ATP 250 indoor hardcourt event, converted five of his six break point chances and won 68 per cent of his service points, compared to 42 per cent for Albot.

Albot, who also struggled when receiving with a 32-per-cent conversion rate on return points, was successful on his only break opportunity of the match.
