JACKSON, Miss. — Keegan Bradley likes the way he’s putting. He must really like the idea that the the birdie putts he made Friday on his way to a 7-under 65 were not terribly far from the hole.

In his debut at the Country Club of Jackson, Bradley made three straight birdies on the back nine to take the lead and closed with another short birdie putt to take a two-shot lead over J.T. Poston and Charley Hoffman.

Bradley, whose victory in the BMW Championship at Aronimink two years ago was his only title in the last eight years, was

The women will be in the spotlight when the UFC returns to Fight Island on Saturday, with former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm taking on Irene Aldana as a slim -125 favourite on the UFC odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Holm rose to the top of the women’s bantamweight division with a stunning victory over Ronda Rousey, but has struggled since, winning just three of her past eight contests going into Saturday night’s bout at the Flash Forum in Abu Dhabi.

Holm enjoyed a brief championship reign, following up her win over Rousey with a fifth-round submission loss to

INDIANAPOLIS — Josef Newgarden doesn’t intend to just give up on his season title defence.

And now, he’s got a chance to keep the crown another year.

The two-time IndyCar champion pulled away from the rest of the field over the final 18 laps Friday, racing to his third win of the season, this time by a margin of 14.2940 seconds over Alexander Rossi. With the Harvest GP win, Newgarden moved within 40 points of what once was a seemingly safe 120-point lead of five-time series champ Scott Dixon with two races remaining.

“It was a great day,” Newgarden said.

PARIS — Neymar scored his first goals of the season to help Paris Saint-Germain make up some lost ground in the French league with a 6-1 rout of visiting Angers on Friday.

PSG moved up to second in the sixth round after winning four games straight. The defending champion started with two defeats.

Kylian Mbappe, who also scored, had the first big chance at Parc des Princes in the fifth minute saved by the quick reacting Angers goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni.

But the home side did not have to wait long for the breakthrough, a fine goal from Alessandro Florenzi in
