CLEVELAND — Baker Mayfield found Odell Beckham Jr. and maybe some of his missing swagger.

Mayfield threw two touchdown passes, Nick Chubb ran for two scores and 124 yards and the Cleveland Browns gave coach Kevin Stefanski his first NFL victory Thursday night by beating the Cincinnati Bengals 35-30 on the NFL’s 100th birthday.

Mayfield connected with Odell Beckham Jr. o n a 43-yard scoring pass in the first half as the Browns (1-1) rebounded from an atrocious performance last week in Baltimore, where they were roughed up 38-6 by the Ravens and looked mostly inept in Stefanski’s debut.

PARIS — After the emotional high of getting a first win against bitter rival Paris Saint-Germain in nine years, Marseille was given a reality check on Thursday.

Marseille lost 2-0 at home against Saint-Etienne, missing a chance to go top of the league.

Instead it’s Saint-Etienne leading after securing a third straight win thanks to goals from winger Romain Hamouma in the sixth minute and forward Denis Bouanga in the 75th.

Substitute Marley Ake hit the crossbar and midfielder Morgan Sanson fluffed a chance as Marseille missed chances early in the second half.

Making a hole-in-one on an empty golf course deprived Patrick Reed of the cheers that typically accompany any great shot.

It did, however, do a whole lot for his score.

Reed one-hopped a 9-iron into the cup on the 165-yard, par-3 seventh hole at Winged Foot in the first round of the U.S. Open on Thursday. The ace helped him erase a double bogey on No. 5 and he shot a 4-under 66 to finish a stroke behind leader Justin Thomas after the morning session.
