LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Jimmy Butler returned to the Miami lineup and everything started clicking again for the Heat.

Butler returned from a foot injury and scored 19 points, Derrick Jones scored 18 off the Miami bench and the Heat kept T.J. Warren largely in check on the way to a 114-92 win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday night.

Butler also had 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals.

“He was dictating the game,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “The ball was going through him. That’s the definition of a go-to player.”

In sweltering heat, United’s young team controlled the lion’s share of possession but had a hard time creating clear chances until Andreas Bjelland brought down Anthony Martial in the penalty area. LEXINGTON, Ky. — Canada’s Leylah Fernandez has advanced to the main draw at the Top Seed Open.

The 17-year-old Fernandez downed Australia’s Arina Rodionova 6-2, 6-3 on Monday to advance to the tournament’s main draw through qualifiers.

The teenager from Montreal secured the match in one hour 20 minutes.

The 30-year-old Rodionova didn’t help her cause with eight double faults, including five in the deciding set.

Fernandez, the 2019 French Open junior girls champion, will play American Sloane Stephens in the first round of the main draw.

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Christopher Bell is returning to Joe Gibbs Racing and will drive the No. 20 Toyota in the Cup Series in 2021.

Bell will replace Erik Jones, whose contract with JGR expires at the end of this season. Jones has two wins in 133 Cup Series starts.

Bell is finishing his rookie season with Leavine Family Racing, a JGR satellite team that announced last week it had sold its NASCAR charter and will close its doors in November. That left Bell without a ride in 2021, and Gibbs moved quickly to bring back the budding star.

The biennial competition pitting a U.S. team against a squad of International golfers will be played at Royal Montreal Golf Club in 2024.
